My first custom doll ~ 2013 Alien girl

         I created my first custom doll this week
                       She is my little dancing pop star Alien

                                                          She was originally dark purple
                                        I removed all the purple and made her a sparkly white
                                           She was then painted very bright neon colors

Two of the most amazing artist

I have searched high and low for the artist who's work would compliment my new Scandinavian doll house.
I  am happy to say I have found two! The first one is Angela Petsis , and  it was her sweet dreamy deer that caught my attention  a few days ago.I have since bought the original encaustic painting  know as Dear Love . This painting is actually 4x4  so it  will fit perfectly in the girls new home
If you guys get a chance please drop in to her shop over at Etsy

The next artist who's work I adore is Kendra Binney . According to Kendra's profile she was raised in a small town with no shoe stores. Most of her time was spent barefoot searching the tall grass for  spiders and snakes, and other hidden treasures.

I fell in love with Kendra's whimsical paintings immediately . I went through Her shop and marked just about everything she had as a favorite !  It was incredibly hard for me to pick just one painting , but I manged to narrow it down to two of her pieces. And I like to add most of her work is on a small scale, so it's perfect for a doll house. Here are the two I'm deciding between .
This is a 4x7 . Tell me this doesn't take your breath away .
This can't go another way - limited edition print on wood with resin

This one is just as stunning as the other . And what I love about her work is the more you look at it the more stuff you find , kinda like a treasure hunt ,lol. This a 8x4 and it is so special to me because I raise painted ladies, which she has painted beautifully here.

If you want to see more of her incredible work I posted a link to her store !

White

                                           Here' an another look at what i'm working on .
                                I painted this portrait of little red a few months ago when I was making a necklaces for a customer. Turned out she went with a different painting I did, so this one will be used in my Scandinavian, folklore, white magic line that I'm still working on.
                                               The concept is white + white = More White

                                   This is my little moon fairy. Painted in oil

                        The primary colors for my new line are sliver and white
                             I then added a hint of sparkle and traces of blood red

The stuff hanging off the necklaces that looks like hair  I took off a witches head is actually a sparkle ribbon that I pulled apart.

                                            These are some random pieces for another necklace
                          This little guy was made with ink on suede, and then leather backed

This is a deco girl done in ink and she will be leather backed

                             ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Floating Fairy House
Awhile back I talked about making floating Fairy Houses, Well  I'm almost finished with one! .
It' a bit of a time consumings process you see. You basically take a balloon and rub it down with Vaseline. Then you start wrapping the Vaseline covered balloon with yarn that was soaked in fabric stiffener, and you can also add glitter like I did.
After you have wrapped the balloon completely you let it dry out for a day or so.
Once dry you can pop the balloon and pull it out and  go to work designing your fairy house.
This is how mine looks so far.
As you can see in the pictures once mine dried I cut a large hole in the middle added white cotton fluff to make a floor . I added little birds a top and dangled chains and sparkle piece off the bottom. I also wanted to furnish the inside of the house with little people stuff, so I ordered an amazing bed off  Etsy.
                                                   It arrived a few weeks ago.
It may not look like it but it's still pretty roomie inside. I'm going to try and make a small table and chair for the house. I was even thinking of adding on to the house with another room . This house is big enough to hold a petite Blythe doll :) Once I make a few more of these houses I'm going to start adding big bay windows and all kinds of stuff. This was my first attempt !
